Therapy Grounded in Compassion, Relationship, and Understanding
At Palazzolo Therapy, we work collaboratively to explore the patterns, relationships, and inner experiences shaping your life—so that healing, clarity, and meaningful change become possible.
Our Approach
A Collaborative and Compassion-Focused Approach to Therapy
Our work is grounded in the belief that emotional experiences develop within relationships and life history. Rather than pathologizing distress, we focus on understanding it.
We integrate several evidence-informed approaches, including:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand the different parts of ourselves
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to reduce shame and self-criticism
Systemic Family Therapy to explore the relational patterns shaping our lives
Together, these approaches help people develop deeper self-awareness, compassion, and more supportive relationships.
Areas of Support
Therapy for Individuals, Couples, and Families
We support people navigating a wide range of life experiences, including:
Anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions
Relationship and family conflict
Trauma and intergenerational patterns
Identity exploration and self-understanding
Experiences such as voice hearing or strong beliefs
Supporting loved ones experiencing psychosis
Our work often includes family members, partners, or caregivers, helping everyone better understand what’s happening and how to move forward together.
For Families
& Caregivers
You Don’t Have to Navigate This Alone
When someone you love is experiencing distress—especially experiences related to psychosis—it can be confusing, isolating, and overwhelming.
Therapy offers a space where families can:
Improve communication and understanding
Explore different perspectives safely
Reduce blame and isolation
Strengthen connection and support
The goal is not simply to “fix” a problem, but to help everyone feel more grounded, connected, and supported.

Sydney Dodson
THERAPIST
As a student therapist at Michigan State University, I am completing my field placement with a focus on supporting individuals and couples. I’m especially interested in relationship counseling, helping people improve communication, navigate conflict, and deepen intimacy. I also have an interest in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, or OCD. I use practices from Compassion-Focused Therapy and consider family relationships to guide my work. My background includes child custody investigations and adolescent advocacy, which has strengthened my understanding of family dynamics and resilience. Under the guidance of professional supervision, I provide relationship counseling and individual therapy in a supportive, inclusive space where clients feel understood, validated, and empowered.
